![]() I haven’t seen the growth I was hoping for, and I have encountered far too many issues in working with it that I’m not willing to wait any longer to be someday resolved. I have since become disenchanted with Banktivity. In late 2018 I decided that Banktivity (which had *just* rebranded from “iBank”) had the comprehensive set of features that I needed, and so I migrated to this platform.īanktivity was still a bit rough around the edges, but it had just been overhauled and they looked like they were eager to build a world-class personal finance solution so I tolerated some of the fairly glaring shortcomings and found workarounds with the assistance of their support folks. I was disenchanted and looked around for a native MacOS product that could handle my personal finance needs. Their support had gone very much downhill, updates to the product were unspectacular and, frankly, it seemed as if Intuit regarded the Quicken product as just an advertising means to push their TurboTax product. I continued to use Quicken for a little over 25 years when they started faltering and appeared about to go out of business. This continued until I got my first job and decided I wanted a more polished system, whereupon I migrated over to Intuit’s Quicken product. I have tracked my finances in detail since my university days in the mid-80s when I created a complicated set of macros in Quattro to handle the basics required to record, track, and reconcile all of my accounts. I basically don’t trust the Banktivity registers and it takes WAY too much time manually inspecting, auditing, and repairing to be worth my effort. TLDR I moved from Quicken to Banktivity a little over 3 years ago and now I’m going back. 21 commentsĪrchives Archives Categories Categories Housekeeping adminMarc on Endless Pool Fastlane in a Salt Water Pool – Issue.adminMarc on Moving Back to Quicken from Banktivity (Long).Norman Dallura on Moving Back to Quicken from Banktivity (Long).Ann on Moving Back to Quicken from Banktivity (Long).iOS 15 Managed Pasteboard and Intune MAM/MDM Protections June 1, 2022.Shared iPadOS TemporarySessionTimeout Experience June 2, 2022.AAA Shady Automatic Renewal Practice June 14, 2022.Put Dates on Everything January 23, 2023.Tankless Water Heater 16 years on April 27, 2023.For those Banktivity 7 users who have had issues using Direct Download for Vanguard investment transactions, you can forget about that ever being fixed by IGG. I chatted with support yesterday after seeing that they had fixed it with a recent update to Banktivity 8. I asked about an update for B7 and was told that they have no plans to update B7 beyond what is available right now. They broke the download between B7 and Vanguard. They've been working on a fix for months. They apparently found one.yet now they refuse to update their software to implement that fix for current users. I am about this close to ditching Banktivity altogether and just using Quicken Mac.Īnd to those that will reply and say, "well, it's an unsupported version now since they released a new upgrade", that makes no sense. First off, B8 was just released last week. And second, IGG broke the Vanguard connection. Have the same problem with DD and Vanguard (B7.5.3). WAS working and then just stopped working, trying to login again produced an error. Contacted support via their online support form. About a half hour later I got a response from Ian the owner. He said DD and Vanguard will are fixed in v8, just not in the current build, 29. I only used DD for Vanguard in B7, did not use their DA service. I have been using B8 beta and now B8 (29) and using DA for most of my accounts. DA for Vanguard works, but my Bell Bank accounts do not. Banktivity connected, but downloads nothing. What I did notice is that transactions downloaded via DD and DA differ. Banktivity app download for android update#.
